These were the first two pieces I wrote as a graduate student at CCM. Regarding the first title, the transition from being a very big fish at Lehigh University to beginning my studies in the big, competitive pond of CCM was not unexpected but was still overwhelming. The second piece paints a picture of someone on the verge of enormous change, reticent to take the next giant step, and nostalgic for simpler times. Years later, I see in these pieces a beautiful simplicity and powerful expression that I am very proud of.
